Watch out! Here come the Florida Marlins - the youngest team in baseball - average age, 26 - and the lowest combined salary in the league. Opening day game - we crushed the Washington Nationals 12-6. Go Marlins!

A mother manatee and her baby found their way up our canal today. Each time it happens we consider it a special gift to be able to observe them. Note the prop scars on Momma - all healing, though. (click on picture to enlarge) The second picture is of the baby nursing. How sweet is that?!
I have been trying to capture the green flash with my camera for those of you who haven't seen it. Yes, it does exist - promise! We have been out for sunset on the bay the last 6 nights and have seen it 4 times! Unfortunately, it is visible to the naked eye but not through the camera lens - at least not yet! I will keep trying!
Heading down the canal for sunset on the bay!
Some hungry pelicans looking for a snack!
Beautiful Dakota Kate!
How special is this day - sunset and a full moon rising!
This blog started out to be a log of our sailing adventures aboard Freyja, our Downeast 38. It has now become a journal of our daily lives. Jack's a retired pilot and Susan, a retired Emergency Room RN. We have lived and sailed in the Florida Keys for 25 years. Whoops! We sold our Florida Keys home, the sailboat and moved to Ohio!!!
