HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!!

The day started out with lunch at the Palace with Jack's Mom

Then by boat to our park for the community celebration. Last year our city council refused to budget fireworks and everyone was so disappointed when the Fourth rolled around. So, with the spirit typical of a small town the locals got together, formed a team and raised enough money to sponsor the fireworks AND provide free hotdogs and hamburgers for everyone!! Wouldn't President Obama be proud? That's the American spirit and we are proud to call this community our home.

Uncle Donald and Auntie Alina joined us. The beagles stayed home in the AC!

How lucky were we to have Julio prepare us prime rib for our Fourth of July dinner?!

2 of my favorite boys - Loius and Christian. And, oh by the way, that's my contribution - a chocolate kaluha cake!

GO NAVY!

Jack, Kristen, Romeo and I were privileged to hear the Navy Band Southeast perform last Sunday. They are based in Jacksonville, FL and perform a variety of music for official military ceremonies as well as parades and public concerts. We took a picnic, sat on lawn chairs and enjoyed a beautiful evening. Go Navy!

COME SAIL WITH ME!

HAPPY 63, JACK!

Jack requested flan for his birthday dessert but I had to have something to stick a candle or 2 in. This large cupcake seemed to fit the bill and although it appears to be Snow White we pretended it was a lady jumping out of the cake for him!!

That's Jack sister, Kristen with us. What a treat to have her here for Jack's special day!

Capt. Lisa came to dinner - and made dinner....yummy Pad Thai!

And Capt. Joanie joined us, too!

THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!

My favorite Captain from flight attendant days is in town for the week! John and I have LOTS of history together - Havana, Key West, New York City, London (lots of London!), Switzerland, Ireland, Scotland, The Netherlands....we remember the stories differently but we both remember how much fun we had! Over dinner last night we talked and laughed and marvelled at how easily we reconnect. Love you, John!
